Who We Serve

We're not the right fit for everyone.
That's a feature, not a bug.

Ask Erik works best with established local businesses that value professional IT as a long-term investment. If you're looking for the cheapest option or a one-time repair, we're not the right call.

We're a great fit if…

Established businesses with 10–75 users
Dental, medical, or healthcare-adjacent practices
Law firms and professional services
Companies that take cybersecurity seriously
Businesses that want IT managed proactively
Owners who value clear communication over jargon
Companies with compliance requirements (HIPAA, etc.)
Businesses ready for a long-term IT partner

We're probably not if…

One-time repair or break/fix requests
Businesses looking for the cheapest option
Startups or pre-revenue businesses (usually not yet)
Home users or personal devices
Businesses running unsupported operating systems by choice
Organizations that don't take cybersecurity seriously
Single-person operations (we're better suited to teams)

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about whether we're a fit

What size of business does Ask Erik work with?

I work best with established businesses that have 10–75 users. That's the range where professional, proactive IT makes the biggest difference — where downtime actually costs real money and a data breach isn't just embarrassing, it's existential. If that's not you yet, I'd rather tell you honestly now than take you on and not be able to give your business the attention it needs.

Do you work with dental and medical practices?

Yes — healthcare is one of my core specialties, and I know how much pressure a practice owner is under to get compliance right while still running a business day-to-day. I support HIPAA Security Rule implementation, practice management software, PHI encryption and access controls, and Business Associate Agreements for dental, medical, and healthcare-adjacent practices, so you're not carrying that weight alone.

I just need a one-time computer repair. Can you help?

Probably not, and I'd rather tell you that straight up than waste your time. Ask Erik is built around ongoing managed IT partnerships for established businesses, not one-off repairs or home users. If a quick fix is really what you need, I'm happy to point you toward someone who's a better fit for that — no hard feelings.

What if I'm not sure whether Ask Erik is the right fit?

That uncertainty is completely normal, and it's exactly what the free 30-minute IT Assessment is for. We'll have an honest conversation about your business and your technology needs, and I'll tell you straight whether I'm the right partner for you — or point you toward someone who might be a better fit if I'm not. No pressure either way.

Do you work with startups or single-person businesses?

Generally not yet, and I know that's not what every business owner wants to hear when they're looking for help. I'm built for teams — established businesses with 10–75 users that have ongoing IT needs and compliance requirements. Startups and solo operations are usually a better fit for me once they've grown into that range — and I'd genuinely rather you come back to me then than sign up now and not get the attention you deserve.
